Stories of Titusville Garner National Awards
Solomon Crenshaw Jr. earned first- and third-place awards in the National Federation of Press Women’s Communications Contest for work he did for Bending The Arc Project and the Titusville Markers Committee.
Crenshaw placed third in Specialty Articles/History for his story, Treasures of Titusville: Unheard Voices and Untold Stories. His sidebar – Titusville: Where Dreams Come True – placed first in Columns and Personal Opinion.
Crenshaw won two other NFPW awards. He earned first place in Specialty Articles/Sports for “From delivering fastballs to delivering the Gospel: Negro Leagues pitcher William Greason remembers Rickwood Field playing days” and earned honorable mention in Specialty Articles/Government or Politics for “How Jefferson County Pulled Off a Billion-Dollar Refinancing to Help Stabilize Sewer Rates and Regain Trust.”
Each of the aforementioned stories placed first in its category in the Alabama Media Professionals' Communications Contest.
